Overview

PressTag ("PressTag", "we", "us", or "our") provides a multi-tenant headless content management system for digital publishers. This policy explains what information we collect when you visit our website, book a demo, or use PressTag to run a publication, and how that information is handled.

This policy applies to getpresstag.com and to the PressTag admin and API products used by our customers ("Publishers"). It does not directly govern the privacy practices of individual Publisher websites, which are each Publisher's own responsibility toward their readers, though this policy explains what PressTag itself does with data that passes through our platform.

Information we collect

We collect information in a few different ways:

  • Information you give us directly — name, email, publication name, and message details when you fill out our contact form or book a demo.
  • Account and billing information — for Publishers on a paid plan, including contact details and billing history.
  • Usage data — pages visited, general device and browser information, and approximate location, collected automatically when you browse getpresstag.com.
  • Content and configuration data — articles, images, categories, tags, and admin user accounts that a Publisher stores within PressTag in order to operate their publication.

How we use information

We use the information we collect to:

  • Respond to demo requests and contact form submissions
  • Provide, maintain, and improve the PressTag platform
  • Process billing for paid plans
  • Send service-related communications, such as maintenance notices
  • Understand how our website and product are used, so we can improve them

We do not sell personal information to third parties, and we do not use Publisher content or reader data to train external advertising products.

Publisher & reader data

When a media house runs its website on PressTag, the articles, images, and reader-facing content that pass through our platform belong to that Publisher. PressTag acts as the infrastructure provider: we store and serve this content on the Publisher's behalf, and we do not use it for any purpose beyond operating the service, unless the Publisher instructs us otherwise (for example, during a support request).

Each Publisher's tenant is logically isolated within our multi-tenant architecture, so one Publisher's content and admin accounts are not accessible to another Publisher.

Sharing information

We share information only in the following circumstances:

  • With infrastructure and service providers who help us operate PressTag (such as hosting and email delivery), under confidentiality obligations
  • If required by law, regulation, or a valid legal request
  • In connection with a business transaction, such as a merger or acquisition, with continued protection under an equivalent policy

Cookies

Our marketing website uses a small number of cookies for basic functionality and to understand aggregate visitor behavior. We do not use invasive cross-site tracking or third-party advertising cookies. You can control cookies through your browser settings.

Data security

We use industry-standard safeguards — including encrypted connections, access controls, and regular backups — to protect information stored in PressTag. No system is completely immune to risk, and we encourage Publishers to use strong, unique credentials for their admin accounts.

Retention

We retain contact form and demo request information for as long as needed to respond to your inquiry and for a reasonable period afterward for record-keeping. Publisher content is retained for the duration of the subscription and for a reasonable transition period after cancellation, to allow for export.

Your rights

Depending on your location, you may have rights to access, correct, or request deletion of your personal information. To exercise these rights, contact us using the details below and we'll respond within a reasonable timeframe.

Children's privacy

PressTag is a business-to-business product intended for use by publishers and their editorial teams. It is not directed at children, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children through our website.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time as our product or legal obligations evolve. We'll update the "last updated" date above when we do, and material changes will be communicated to active Publishers.
